Rene Palomino Jr. was born in Havana, Cuba in 1959 and arrived in Miami, FL in 1961. He was raised in Miami and attended Christopher Columbus High School. Upon graduation he attended the University of Miami and obtained a degree in Business Administration in 1980 with honors. He immediately enrolled at Nova Southeastern School of Law were he obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1983. He worked as a criminal defense attorney immediately upon graduation handling criminal cases for Essen & Essen P.A. and in 1987 established his own law firm. In February 2008 he joined the Office of Regional Counsel where he defended indigent defendants charged with very serious crimes. Throughout his over 32 years of practicing law in he has handled over 2,500 cases in state court and approximately 200 cases in federal court. The type of cases he has handled range from DUIs to murder cases involving serious and complex legal issues. Throughout his career he was also involved in civil litigation where he was able to obtain multi-million dollar verdicts, including a jury verdict for $253 MILLION against Fidel Castro and the Republic of Cuba. Palomino is a member the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the American Bar Association. Palomino was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1983 and is also a member of the Federal Bar of the United States District for the Southern District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He joined the Corona Law Firm in October 2015 where he handles criminal and civil cases that are set for litigation.
